smallstreams.com has seen many iterations. This is the latest.

Originally, smallstreams was the personal web log of Adam Trahan, before we knew what blogs were.  smallstreams is arguably one of the oldest fly fishing sites on the web. That was more than a decade ago, and Adam’s writings eventually became a forum site and community, then a site showcasing writing about small stream fishing, changed hands, became a forum again, and eventually, almost died from spammers and neglect.

Almost.

A while ago, the site changed hands again. When I acquired it, I wanted to recreate a community that was a safe haven for small stream fishers everywhere. The smallstreams forums are different by design, with limited access to members only – shared like you would share the location of your favorite small stream, by word of mouth, to people you trust. The forums are the heart of smallstreams.com. They are also decidedly different than many mainstream forums, specifically because the expected level of behavior and contribution. We hold ourselves to a higher standard here, likely in part because of our level of appreciation of these small, fragile bodies of moving water we love and the even more fragile fish we find in them…
