    Calgary waters

I spent a couple of days walking & wading in the mountains outside Calgary last week. Saw some spectacular country & gin clear water. Thankfully the wind wasn’t too much of a factor & we saw some decent bug action. On both days I used nothing but dries to pick up cuts & bows. These fish were STRONG & so beautiful (pictures just don't capture the vivid colors on these fish). I fished both a 7’7” Linnea 4wt & Jennings bamboo rod. I'll let the pictures tell most of the story but I will share one. I broke off my pink post size 16 parachute adams on a nice fish on day 1 & on day two, I brought a nice cutt to hand & found my pink post parachute adams in its mouth! Always nice to get a fly back…

Such beautiful country. Would love to get up there sometime to fish the Bow, and the waters up around Banf.

My home waters! Haven't been up there much this year.

Is that Kelly O you were fishing with?

Harps - you're lucky to have those as your home waters! I was fishing with Dutchie/Rich

It looked like Kelly in that one shot.
I've only met Dutchie once, but he has a good reputation.

I do love the waters, I only wish we had more forward thinking fisheries management- We have much greater potential!
At least there are always places to walk away from crowds still... and catch great fish!

    Cheers,
