Public Land in the US
The link below offers a short video on the idea of transferring federal lands to the states--mostly in the American West. While the most recent move by Congress was pushed back by a large number of outdoor enthusiasts, there is already another bill in a committee of the US House of Representatives to keep this idea alive. Please take a moment and find a web site or organization that offers reasonable updates of this important issue. There is plenty of rhetoric to sift through.
I cannot imagine a life without public land for fishing and all sorts of outdoor recreation. It's available not only to US citizens (we just own it), it's open for everyone to use responsibly.
