Mounted with a strong and sturdydouble edged thrusting blade of fine Wootz Damascus steel, both sides with intricate gold inlaid decorations featuring a Raja followed byarmed guardsand intricate scriptures to ricasso. Interesting part is the locking mechanism, which has two positions, so actually works as a Double lock, first the dagger itself can be turned and locked inside the scabbard and then the ring can be turned in the oppositedirection to create a secondary lock, so except for this dagger's owner, most likely, no one else would be able to open it fast. Super beautiful and very unique example, superbly crafted for an important individual of significant status and rank, possibly used by an assassin killer. Solid and intact overall with moderate wear consistent with the age. Circa 18th to early 19th century.

Overall : 22 1/2" Blade : 15 1/2"
