Unknown Silverplate Large Pierced Fish Slice Engraved Trout Fisherman on Blade:
$49.99

We are pleased to offer a handsome silverplated pierced fish slice. Given the style of the piece, we believe it to be English, circa 1850s to 1870s. It has a hollow handle with a Gothic style pattern. The blade is pierced and engraved. The artistry in this piece is amazing. The center cartouche is engraved with the image of a trout fisherman standing in a stream casting his line. His apparel helps date the piece. The piercings form a shell frame, cattails and reeds to further enhance the theme of the piece. It's a heavy, masculine piece that features a typical English scene. This is a real collector's item for both the silver and fishing collectors.
Condition: The piece has been well used and cared for. The silver is beginning to shadow as can be seen in the photos. There are scratches and minor plate wear on the blade as well. There are no maker's marks on the piece.
Size: 13" long.
